- Robert Capa (Endre Friedmann), Born October 22, 1913, Died May 25, 1954
- Known for his great combat and adventure photo style.
- Capa’s techniques mostly involved risking his life was a war photographer, going onto the actual battlefield to get the best and up close pictures.
- Capa worked for and co-founded Magnum Photos in Paris.
- During Capa’s most famous photo shoot (D-day 1944), the only thing he took onto the beach was a Contax 2.
- Most of Capa’s photos are taken during the sun when the sun is high.
- As a teenage Capa was living in Berlin under the Nazi party, after he left and moved to Paris he started to take war photos, I believe that the rise of the Nazi party may have had to something why he became a war photographer.
- In the Bloodiest battle in WW2 (D-day 1944) the only civilian on the beach was Robert Capa
Most of Capa’s work is war photographs that have hidden meaning or massage. I feel that most war photography is a small form of protest for the war, im unsure if that was what Capa was going for but that's how I interpret it. I like that his work did actually help people who weren't soldiers to see what was like on the battlefield.
I selected this Photographer because he is one of the most if not the most famous war photographer.
